Mar. 21--VIRGINIA BEACH -- The Virginia Beach Mariners have lost their primary investor, leaving the future of the soccer franchise uncertain, the team's coach said today. Colin Clarke, a former Major League Soccer coach hired less than four months ago by Florida businessman Mike Sidebottom, said Sidebottom announced in a Tuesday e-mail to Mariners staff that he is no longer involved with the team. The Mariners are members of the First Division, the top level of competition in the United Soccer Leagues.
