A project to increase wild hunting areas in Namibia is receiving a A boost from a program run by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in partnership with Conservation Force and the Dallas Safari Club. John Jackson of Conservation Force recently reported in his organization's newsletter that WWF's "Life Plus" project, funded by US AID and other donor grants is supporting the development of eighty communal conservancies in wild, pristine areas of Namibia, covering 40 million acres of land--one-third of which will be new tourist hunting destinations. These are not ranch hunts, common in other parts of Namibia, but huge, unfenced areas of true wilderness.
