Mar. 21--When the weather warms up, automobile racers and hobbyists start tinkering with new projects or finishing up old ones to get ready for summer racing and shows. And the machine shop world kicks into high gear.
"Spring is the busiest time of the year for us," says Mark Stewart, whose Bullet Machine Inc. is one of the largest shops between Sacramento and Portland. "A lot of our customers race and racing season starts in April.
And people who were working on long-term projects over winter and those with short-term projects that need to get done show up now and we get a lot busier."
