Mar. 22--The San Bernardino County Coroner's office confirmed Wednesday morning that the body found in the California Aqueduct on Tuesday was that of David Van Fleet, 62, who was missing since March 15.
Relatives said the news, painful as it was, offered a sense of closure for grieving family members who are in the midst of planning Van Fleet's funeral for next Tuesday.
In remembering his nephew, Van Fleet's uncle -- also named David Van Fleet of Omaha, Neb. -- said that his kindness in life might be what led to his death.
