Mar. 23--Oxnard vegetable grower Boskovich Farms Inc. is lashing back at Taco Bell, claiming in a lawsuit that the fast food chain cost it millions of dollars when it falsely identified its green onions as the source of an E. coli outbreak last fall.
In a libel suit filed last week in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Boskovich said it had to plow under a 55-acre field of onions in the wake of the scare, devastating the business of what its Web site calls its "signature product."
