NBC Universal and MobiTV have teamed up to bring full-length primetime shows to mobile phones.
The deal, the first of its kind for the US wireless market, promises to deliver complete episodes of such NBCU Television Studios programs as "The Office," "Heroes," "Monk" and "Battlestar Galactica" to mobile users on-demand for $1.99. As with other on-demand rental programs, the mobile episodes come with a 24-hour viewing period.
MobiTV and NBCU warn that the cost per episode is subject to change by participating wireless carriers.
