TUCSON -- The last two years, Clint Barmes has been the Opening Day shortstop for the Rockies, hitting second both times. He added a bit of drama to the franchise's history in 2005 when he became the first rookie in major league history to hit a game-ending home run on Opening Day.
There's no chance for Opening Day theatrics at Coors Field this year for Barmes.
He won't even be on the Rockies roster, much less in the lineup.
