Article: Hankyu, Hanshin department stores to integrate under holding firm.

Mar. 26--OSAKA -- The parent of both Hankyu Department Stores Inc. and Hanshin Department Stores Ltd. said Monday the two department store chain operators will integrate operations on Oct. 1 under a holding firm to be formed from what is now Hankyu Department Stores.

Hankyu Hanshin Holdings Inc. said in a statement its board approved a motion to alter the organizational structure of the two Osaka-based department chain operators via a share swap between the two operators.

The corporate name of the new holding company slated to come into existence on Oct. 1 will be announced on that date, according to the statement.
