BUSINESS leaders in Birmingham have again called on the Government to put improvements in public transport before before road pricing measures.
Birmingham Chamber of Commerce and Industry made the call as part of a submission to the House of Commons Transport Select Committee by the national British Chambers of Commerce about the Transport Innovation Fund.
BCI chief executive Jerry Blackett, who sat on the steering group for the West Midlands TIF bid, said: "Local authorities want to improve public transport but don't have the resources to do it.
"TIF would enable them to achieve that but improvements must be ahead of road pricing ...
