Mar. 26--HARLINGEN -- It was almost like festival time at Valley Race Park on Sunday.
Big crowd, cameras flashing, plenty of activities.
Sylvia must have sensed something special was going on. She must have felt she needed to put on a show of her own.
She did. Boy, did she ever.
The magnificent two-year-old female from the Burk Kennel saved her best when it mattered most.
Sylvia broke from the No. 7 box and beat the field to the turn, turning the championship of the Texas Bred Showdown into a one-dog race.
