The Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association held the U.S. Championship Cheese Contest March 12-14 in Milwaukee.
Ken Root of McCadam Cheese in Chateaugay, N.Y., was named the overall champion for his New York cheddar, extra sharp.
A team from Monroe cheesemaker Roth Kase was named first runner-up for its Roth's Private Reserve.
