Mar. 27--The fights and mischief predicted by some community members at BET's Spring Bling '07 beach party last weekend never happened, said city leaders of Riviera Beach, where the event took place.
But neither did the influx of customers for businesses.
"It wasn't like they told us it would be," said Dennis Gordon, owner of The Freeze, an ice cream parlor. "Business was bad. The kids were bused in and bused out right after the concert. They weren't allowed to walk the boardwalk, look at the shops or buy anything."
