Mar. 27--SPRING VALLEY LAKE -- Each year, the formerly crystal-blue waters of Spring Valley Lake get a little murkier.

"We're talking 35 years we've had water flowing in, people's trash, garbage," said Gordon Ryan, general manager of the homeowner's association. "We've lost our plant growth cycle. We can't feed the fish."

Ryan has realized he is not only handling waste from the community, but from Victorville as well.

With an outdated drainage system from the 1960s, the community's storm water flows directly into the lake.
