Mar. 28--The Ware family, owner of Amarillo National Bank, is making a foray into the Lubbock banking market.
The family is among a group of investors launching what is expected to be called Lone Star State Bank of West Texas, an ANB executive said.
The Wares will own about 40 percent of the bank, which will be initially capitalized at $25 million, ANB Executive Vice President Wade Porter said.
Lone Star State Bank will operate under its own charter, independently of Amarillo National.
Application documents for that charter are being filed with the Texas Department of Banking in Austin.
