Wayne takeoff unit adds second chill roll
Wayne Machine & Die Co. of Totowa, N.J., has introduced a midsized Yellow Jacket cast film takeoff system, featuring orientation, thanks to a second chill roll.
The second roll features a closed-loop precision drive that maintains the selected speed ratio between the two chill rolls, so the film is oriented in the machine direction.
Once set, the motors are continuously monitored with encoders to maintain the exact degree of orientation.
The chill rolls feature double-shell, spiral-baffle construction with chrome plating.
