Lately, anthologies of poetry seem to outnumber the single-author volumes. Besides the ethnic and/or gender groupings, the ever-popular "topic" anthologies fill the shelves -- nature, love (and/or marriage), urban, erotic, etc. The jaded writer may scoff at these frames and packages for poetry, yet an obvious justification for them is their appeal to a broader market, one not often reached by poetry.
