The development of Baylor College of Dentistry has paralleled that of Baylor University Medical Center (BUMC). For many years, there has been a close working relationship between the two institutions and, in particular, the shared specialty and training program of oral and maxillofacial surgery. Presented herein is the history of Baylor College of Dentistry and the many oral and maxillofacial surgeons who have contributed to these two institutions and have made the oral and maxillofacial surgery training program one of the top programs in the country.
