Mar. 29--To get last year's winning Ski Utah photo contest shot, Nate Young worked his butt off -- and benefited from some mountain chivalry.
After a snowy, snowy night in January, Young awoke at 4:30 a.m. The Salt Lake City resident headed up Little Cottonwood Canyon and started climbing Flagstaff Peak in darkness. He was content to "play the waiting game for the sun to rise" on Mount Superior's steep west face, sure to be resplendent in a blanket of powder untouched until pierced by skiing partner Jeff Campbell.
But a few minutes into his hike, Young's heart sank. He and Campbell were five minutes behind another ...
