Mar. 30--TALLAHASSEE -- What do Hawaiian leis and hot dogs have to say about Volusia County?
Nothing.
But the folks handing them out will talk your ears off.
Thursday was Volusia Day at the state Capitol, which meant about 300 folks from DeBary to Deltona and Osteen to Oak Hill descended on the center of state government to lobby for causes and shake some hands.
Volusia County Council members, some here since Tuesday, have attended legislative briefings, plotted strategy with paid lobbyists, and made personal visits to legislators and the governor to lobby on such issues as affordable housing, emergency ...
