Before you place too much stock in the predicted order of finish here, be forewarned that, of the top seven or eight teams in the American League, four of them are in the Central.
The point?
Use this as a blueprint, not as a bible.
"By the standard I would use, I think it's clearly the best division in baseball -- and I'm not prone to hyperbole," said Mark Shapiro, the general manager of the Cleveland Indians. "Usually, you hear people say things like, `Any one of four teams could win that division.' In our case, I think you can say that any one of four teams could win the American League."
And he's right.
