Though he's a man who doesn't much like birthdays--"It's just time passing by," he muses--Christian Lacroix will mark his 20 years as a couturier with a year as packed with attractions as a Disney theme park. On the schedule: an anniversary show during the July couture, the fall opening of a New York flagship and a major exhibition at Paris's Museum of Fashion and Textiles in November. While the designer insists he didn't plan to have such a chockablock calendar, he's more than up for all of it. But then, since the Florida-based travel retailers Falic Group purchased his house from LVMH in 2005, Lacroix's mood has grown ever lighter and more upbeat--practically euphoric.
