Salvia Baron Supervielle is a writer and translator who works in a variety of genres. She has translated Marguerite Yourcenar into Spanish and Jorge Luis Borges into French. Her recent book Le livre du retour could easily be considered a recit as defined by Genette: it is at once a text, a story, and an act of recounting. As a text, it presents a series of events that lead the author back to a memory; as a story, it catches us up especially in the lives and loves of the protagonists Gloria Horsley and her father Robert; as an act of recounting, it makes us double for the author when we read her tale.
