I believe that the period we are now experiencing in Russia--one that may last for years--is an Indian summer of communism socialism. But what does this mean in real terms for society? One cannot say that there was "socialism" in Sweden simply because the Social Democratic party ruled there some time ago. As far as "communism," the ideology under which we lived for 70 years, is concerned, we used to believe that this was the ideology of Russian society, although this society never reached the stage characterized by the communist slogan, "From everyone according to his talents, to everyone according to his needs."
