Apr. 3--SARATOGA SPRINGS -- A proposed $4.95 million budget for the Saratoga Springs Public Library will go before voters on April 12.
The budget for the 2007-08 fiscal year would raise spending 3.6 percent above last year. City property owners would get a tax break under the plan, but Greenfield and Wilton would pay more. The 58,626-square-foot library between Henry and Putnam streets serves residents of the Saratoga Springs Enlarged City School District, including the city, Greenfield and Wilton. Under the proposed library budget, the owner of property in the city assessed at $100,000 would pay $2 less a year in taxes. ...
