Apr. 3--HOUSTON -- A handshake with former President George Bush and an autograph by Craig Biggio were among the highlights Monday for Beaumont native Clay Walker. The country music star was at Minute Maid Park for the Houston Astros season-opening game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. He sang The National Anthem and was one of eight to throw out a ceremonial pre-game pitch. Walker, 37, said he looked into the eyes of the former president, seated next to former first lady Barbara, while singing the anthem. Walker's ceremonial pitch was received by Craig Biggio, whose eighth-inning single put him within 69 of career hit No. 3,000.
