Apr. 3--SAN RAMON -- A week after a brutal beating outside of a San Francisco nightclub, a San Ramon man remains in a coma as investigators look for three suspects who apparently picked their victim at random.
Buck Spillner, 20, met some friends last Tuesday night at Club NV, a South of Market hip-hop club. After leaving, Spillner and a friend were confronted by a group of three men, who asked them if they were affiliated with a gang. "My nephew said they're not into that, and didn't want any trouble," said Phil Ribera, who lives in Hayward.
