Crude Oil. The average price of domestic crude oil at the wellhead was $67.75 per barrel in July 2006, 27 percent above the level of July 2005. The refiner acquisition cost of imported crude oil in July 2006 was $67.99 per barrel, 29 percent higher than the July 2005 level. The average refiner acquisition cost of domestic crude oil in July 2006 was $70.57 per barrel, 26 percent higher than the July 2005 average.

Motor Gasoline. The national city average retail price of unleaded regular gasoline at all types of stations was $2.59 per gallon in September 2006, 12 percent lower than the price in September 2005. The price of unleaded premium gasoline averaged $2.82 ...
