Apr. 6--SCHENECTADY -- Students enrolled in "Archaeology of the Erie Canal," a new continuing education course at Schenectady County Community College, have a lofty goal to achieve in just eight short weeks.
They're attempting to discover and document the remaining vestiges of the Erie Canal within Schenectady County. The class meets on Monday evenings and will explore sites throughout the county to locate, photograph, map and excavate -- if possible -- remnants of the canal.
