This month's column is specially aimed at those who may be new to boating or who are otherwise not totally familiar with the many unique terms used to describe boats. A little reading here can help the neophyte better understand their first boat and improve their ability in communicating with others in the field regarding a boat's operation and maintenance. And with the boat show season soon upon us, the novice who understands these terms just might strike a better bargain when buying his first boat.
