In an age when everything seems to be becoming more specialized, John Griffin is "old school".
The Oakmont Regional senior is a three-sport athlete, a rare occurrence in these days of AAU programs and user fees.
But if you ask Griffin, the defending state champion in the 100-meter dash and Central Mass. champion in the 100 and the long jump, it's all in a day's work.
"It's something I do," Griffin said. "It sets me apart from a lot of other athletes. It shows that I'm good at more than one sport."
