Apr. 8--PANAMA CITY -- Mayor Lauren DeGeorge will face her 2005 opponent's son on April 17, but Scott Clemons is not the only one looking to be mayor of Panama City.
Commissioner Bob Barnard and local businessman Cliff Fleming also are in the hunt.
Fleming is basing his campaign on his desire to repeal a 1-cent sales tax that was enacted years ago to pay for the Marina Civic Center but has been in use well after the debt was paid.
He said the funds have not been misspent; it's just that taxes should not be collected for reasons other than why they were enacted.
