Curtis Brinkley sizes up the question the way he scans the line of scrimmage for a gap to open. There's a bit of hesitation, then a burst of speed. He hits the hole hard. The words are out of the mouth of Syracuse University's starting tailback without regret or review.
"Um, yeah," Brinkley confessed.
Following the 2006 season, Brinkley came close to leaving the Orange. He was ready to transfer, but says he was talked out of it by his family.
Brinkley, who will be a junior this fall, remained at Syracuse and is halfway through spring practice. He's recovering from offseason knee surgery and practicing ...
