Apr. 8--Golf is a sport of precise numbers.

But the lack of precise numbers for operating Erie Golf Club has helped stoke the debate over its closing.

The numbers have been a key point of contention in the courtroom battle between Mayor Joe Sinnott, who closed the course, and his predecessor, Rick Filippi, the former Erie mayor and lawyer who represents two groups and others who want it to open.
