The story Tuesday about the preliminary acceptance of Nutrition Bar Confectioners LLC's application for Empire Zone status by the zone's board incorrectly reported it was the first time the city would be granting the tax breaks and other incentives to a company outside its Empire Zone. Actually, it's the first time the status would be granted by the city under a new state Empire Zone exception for "regionally significant projects."
Also, in stories that appeared Monday and Tuesday on the same issue, it was reported that the state's Empire Zone program began in 2000, and the city of Auburn has ...
