Apr. 11--TROY -- Chris Bystroff believes scientists have a special responsibility in the debate over global warming. On Saturday, the associate biology professor at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute will join a gathering near the River Street statue of the city's most famous native son -- Uncle Sam -- as part of a nationwide movement to rally the fight against global warming. It will be one of more than 1,300 events, including nearly three dozen in the Capital Region, as part of Step It Up 2007, the brainchild of Adirondacks-based environmentalist Bill McKibben.
