Apr. 11--DECATUR -- To Jan Kelsheimer, even more exciting than the prospect of nearing a fundraising goal was the fact that several families were able to set up appointments to receive assessments for their children Tuesday.
"This really is the purpose of the day -- to get the word out," said Kelsheimer, president of Easter Seals Central Illinois Inc.
Central Park was filled with food vendors, media sponsors, Easter Seals clients and entertainment from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday as part of the second Easter Seals Celebration Day. Chicken dinners from Nelson's Catering sold out an hour early with 750 sold, and at 4 p.m., ...
