Apr. 12--Wednesday was no day to play a game at Wrigley Field, not to mention playing two.
"You mean it snowed in Chicago in the middle of April?" Ernie Banks exclaimed over the phone from Los Angeles.
Mr. Cub is 76 years old and running out of time and patience when it comes to a chance to watch his team win a World Series. Banks, it now appears, is growing more nostalgic.
"It would be a great joy for me, personally, after 50 years with the organization," Banks said of the possibility of winning a World Series.
