Easy way to build a shed; Home Decor.(News)

LAST week we created a concrete base for a shed. Now we're erecting the shed itself.

Most garden sheds don't require planning permission, but there are certain exceptions, so do check with your local authority's planning office.

The first job is to treat all the shed's timbers with two or more coats of wood preservative (wear protective goggles and gloves when doing this).

Don't forget to do the inside timbers as well as the outside ones and ensure you coat the floor and joists really well.

As an extra precaution against damp, you'll need a damp-proof membrane, which should be trapped between the base and walls of the shed at a later stage.
