IT'S BEEN BARELY A YEAR AND A HALF since Ryan Zimmerman made the transition from a college kid who had to bum burger money from his buddies at the University of Virginia, to multi-millionaire starting third baseman for the Washington Nationals. But friends and teammates insist that the National League Rookie of the Year runnerup continues to be as humble and hard working as ever.
Keep in mind, that we're talking about a guy who when asked what he might treat himself to when he received a franchise-record $2.975 million signing bonus in 2005 from the Nationals, provided a rather unique answer.
