The Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions of Europe (CPMR) is asking to be granted the status of observer or associate member on the European Maritime Safety Agency's Administrative Board. They request that the scope ofa technical assistance offered by the Lisbon-based agency be extended beyond member states only to include "all partners exercising responsibilities in this policy area". These requests were made in a declaration adopted by the CPMR in Santander (Spain) on 14 April during a seminar on maritime safety.
