China's iron ore stockpiles up to 42.55 mln tons last Friday

Shanghai. April 16. INTERFAX-CHINA - China's iron ore stockpiles in 23 major ports reached 42.55 million tons on Friday, April 13, up 0.66 million tons or 1.57 percent compared to the Friday, April 6 level. The figure includes a 7.59 percent increase of Indian concentrate to 8.93 million tons.

The increase was mainly due to an increase in imports from Australia and Brazil, spurred by the newly-contracted annual price, which was implemented on April 1.
