Marjorie June (Lundberg) McAllister, a member of the St. Paul Bowling Hall of Fame, met her future husband at the Oxford Lanes on Selby Avenue in St. Paul when she was paired with him in a league.
Dean McAllister said bowling became a livelihood and a way to serve the community after he and his wife bought Saxon Lanes of Little Canada in 1962 along with her brother, Jim Lundberg of Marine on St. Croix. "We worked our fannies off, but it worked," Dean McAllister said of the business, which they sold in 1985. Marjorie (Marje) McAllister died Tuesday in her home in Arden Hills at age 71.
