NEW YORK - Only Orlando Hernandez knows for sure if his ejection Saturday was justified. Either way, El Duque was on borrowed time after surrendering a pair of home runs in the sixth inning, and it was the exact wrong moment to let a fastball ride up into the hands of Nationals pitcher Shawn Hill.
Maybe plate umpire Mike Winters would have given Hernandez a pass if Ryan Church had been the only player to take him deep that inning. But when Chris Snelling added a two-run blast and El Duque nicked Hill in the knuckles of his right hand with the very next pitch, the umpire ruled out any ...
