British Columbia's abundance of rivers and waterways represents a vast untapped source of clean, renewable energy. Yet British Columbia remains short of power, and must import it from Alberta and the Unites States to meet its domestic demands. In an effort to return the province to energy self-sufficiency, the government of British Columbia is encouraging independent power producers to develop "green" sources of renewable, domestic energy.
Taking up this challenge is Plutonic Power, an emerging Vancouver-based run-of-river hydroelectric developer set to build the largest independent hydroelectric power project in British Columbia.
