Apr. 18--To combat an exploding residential burglary rate, Santa Fe police plan to re-emphasize efforts to crack down on narcotics in the city, Chief Eric Johnson said Tuesday.
The department had backed off narcotics investigations while the FBI and U.S. attorney investigated the former head of the department's narcotics and property crimes unit on allegations including money laundering, deprivation of civil rights and theft of federal funds, Johnson said at a meeting of the city's Public Safety Committee.
