Apr. 19--By most standards, the Toyota Texas Bass Classic at Lake Fork was a huge success. One of the stated goals of the event, which ended Sunday, was to highlight the story of fisheries management on one of America's most famous bass lakes. The tournament earned an A on that account. Most bass pros, including many from Texas, have never fished at Fork because no major tournament had been held there. Tournaments have trouble with slot-limit lakes. Fork's slot limit protects fish between 16 and 24 inches. Anglers at the lake east of Dallas can keep five bass daily, but the fish must be smaller than 16 inches except for one bass larger ...
