You don't have to have a green thumb to grow herbs. With a little dirt and a little water, even the worst gardeners can keep a pot of basil, cilantro or thyme alive for the summer. Fresh herbs are one of the best ways to add flavor to otherwise boring food. Mrs. Dash is fine in the winter, but shelve those spice blends during the summer in favor of fresh, colorful herbs.
