THOUSANDS of lucky Prize Bond winners hav-en't bothered to collect EU1.2m in unclaimed payouts.
As the prize fund for the country's longest running draw now tops EU588m, the Prize Bond Company (PBC) has appealed to bond holders to check their numbers.
"Even a winning bond bought 50 years ago when the prize bonds draw first began can still be cashed in and the winners will find that they have earned some interest as well," said a spokesman for the PBC.
"We have over EU1.2m in unclaimed prizes, which is very little out of a total prize fund of EU588m, but the money is there, just waiting for the lucky bond holders to claim it."
