Apr. 19--When Ami Hirata announced a little over a year ago that she would be closing the Garo's doors for good, much of Morgantown's art community was saddened by the loss of such a gallery.

Just before its closing, Bernie Schultz, WVU's Dean of the College of Creative Arts and professor of art history, said, "Garo quickly became more than a place, it was an experience, and one that helped to set the foundation for the wonderful showcase for the arts that our city has become."
