GE Money, the card-issuing unit of General Electric Co., reported net income of $851 million for the quarter ended March 31, up 2% from the $836 million in the same quarter of 2006, but down 2.7% from $875 million reported in the fourth quarter. But company executives say that problems in GE Money's subprime mortgage business, which contributed to the lower earnings from last quarter, are not spilling over into the credit card sector.
